Trailer for Destiny 2 Crown of Sorrows Raid Released

A new trailer for the newest raid in Destiny 2 has been released earlier today in preparation for the new update tomorrow. The trailer, which you can check out below, shows a group of Guardians entering a much different Leviathan ship than it was seen last in the Leviathan, Spire of Stars raid. What was once a floating golden palace has now been overtaken by the Hive. The update, Season of Opulence, brings not only a new raid but a new six-player activity called the Menagerie, new quests and, of course, more weapons and armor.

In the raid, Guardians are once again called upon by Calus, who was the emperor of the Cabal Empire before being exiled during Dominus Ghaul’s coup. After Ghaul was killed during the events of Destiny 2, Calus reclaimed the Leviathan, a Cabal warship, which he now calls home. “Deep within the belly of the Leviathan, one of Calus’s former Loyalists has lost his mind to an Ascendant Hive relic,” according to the trailer’s description. With the Leviathan now corrupted and overflowing with Hive minions, Calus turns to the Guardians to rid the scourge from his home.

In addition to the raid, players will be able to participate in a new activity for six players called the Menagerie. Calus has once again orchestrated a new set of challenges in his lost vaults. Players will face difficult enemies within the challenges with the hopes of unlocking new gear and powerful weapons. You can check out the Season of Opulence event on the Bungie website for more information on the new modes, challenges, gear, and raid.

Season of Opulence, including the new Crown of Sorrows raid, will both be available tomorrow, June 4, to all Destiny 2 players. Be sure to check out the “race to the world’s first” complete run of the raid on the Bungie Twitch page, June 4 at 4 PM PDT.
