Toys For Bob To Reportedly Go Fully Remote

New information on the popular game developer Toys For Bob has many fans sighing with relief. Concern towards the studio mounted following a report from the San Francisco Chronicle.  The report claimed that the offices of Toys For Bob and Sledgehammer Games would be shut down after firing a significant amount of their employees.

Thankfully, despite the impact of the layoffs, Toys For Bob is hardly gone for good. That’s according to YouTuber Canadian Guy Eh. Spotted by industry analyst MauroNL, sources claimed to Canadian Guy that the studio would be going fully remote.

Additionally, other industry insiders have also come out with similar statements.

Sources said that in addition to going remote, the developer would be downsized from 86 to 50 people. As to why the developer is going remote, it was reported that its physical office was too expensive to maintain and that it made little sense to maintain the office for their current number of employees.

Sources claimed that Toys For Bob is in a transitional state. With the amount of employees being let go, they are allegedly figuring out which current employees to assign for their current unannounced projects.

Thankfully, it’s alleged that because of Microsoft’s dedication to the studio’s IP, it’s unlikely that there will be any problems in the immediate future for Toys For Bob.

It’s unknown what exact projects the studio is currently working on, but considering the studio’s cryptic post at the beginning of 2024, Spyro fans are likely in for a treat.
