Toast Time Pops Onto Steam August 27

Toast Time is a retro-styled arcade platformer/shoot ’em up, and likely the only time you’ll ever play a game as a toaster.

At least until we get that Brave Little Toaster MMO we’ve all been begging for.

Who doesn’t love toast? TERRY the toaster sure does! For TERRY, there is simply no time quite like breakfast time, and all the wonderful toasted and toast-related foods that are associated therewith.

But oh no! Mysterious creatures have begun to appear! They feed on time, and like TERRY believe breakfast is the best, most delicious time of all.

In Toast Time, players get to take on the role of TERRY (toast-ejecting recoil & reload system) as they try their hardest to defend breakfast from being taken away forever by these time-consuming otherworldly beings. Unlike normal toasters, though, TERRY is far from being a helpless countertop blob: use TERRY’s amazing toaster powers to shoot, smash, and burn your enemies into a fine spreadable jelly, all while jamming out to some truly retro chiptunes.

Force of Habit is small UK-based indie development team with a small, quirky library of titles under their belt. Toast Time was initially released on Android in 2013 and on iOS in early 2014, and due to its success in those markets the team has decided to bring it to PC and Mac via Steam.

Features List

  • 54 action-packed missions.
  • 16 exciting bread-based weapons.
  • Iron Man survival mode & bonus COFFEE TIME mode.
  • Loads of colourful hats and customisations.
  • Addictive and original gameplay mechanics.
  • Steam Achievements, Leaderboards, Stats, Cloud Save & Trading Cards.
  • Super-slick audio and calibrated soundtrack – each level has its own piece of music!

While mobile ports have a tendency to be poorly received on heavier-weight platforms like PC, Toast Time’s classic design should, with luck, translate well to a keyboard or controller-driven interface, while its simple aesthetic should save it from many of the presentation issues such ports often have.

If a toast-themed platforming shooter sounds like the kind of game you could get into, check your Steam listings on August 27 and get ready to play.
