Gone Feral is a co-op stealth roguelike game, developed by Just Purkey Games, where the players hunt down their victims within various slasher inspired locations from iconic 80’s horror movies. Players will need to stalk their targets, hide in plain sight, and use any object within reach to assassinate their targets. They left the player for dead and now it is their time to exact their revenge.
In this game, players can turn anything into a weapon if they are creative enough. There are the traditional weapons like knives and axes, but that is not all they can find within their environment. Players can use turkey legs, severed arms, and even musical instruments against their victims. Hell, they could blow up a propane take if loud and flashy is more their style.
Fear is the players greatest weapon. They can split up their targets by frightening them, making it easier to pick them off one by one. They can embody a true killer from their favorite horror movies, causing the victims to panic and stumble into places that give players the advantage.
Players can choose to terrify their victims alone or with friends through the game’s online co-op feature. They can split up to pick off targets or scare them and lead them towards the other. However the players decide to exact revenge is left in their hands. As they progress, players can also unlock knew disguises from dressing as a cop to a killer wearing a deer head.
Those interested in the game should know that their is currently a single-player playtesting available via Steam. The playtesting will be available until Halloween, October 31, 2026. This version of Gone Feral includes a tutorial and two maps: the gas station and summer camp. There will be a co-op playtest version available in the future, but a set date has not been confirmed.
Just Purkey Games recently released a second patch for the playtest on October 16, 2026, adding an elemental interaction system. This means that fire near explosives will now cause explosions and water near electricity can shock those unfortunate enough to step through it. This update also grants players the ability to use blood in the same way as water to shock their victims. Gone Feral is certainly one game that players want to keep an eye on.
