Tifa Lockhart is Ready to Join the Fray as a New Addition to Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

Fans have been asking for some time for Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII to make an appearance in the epic brawl that is Dissidia Final Fantasy NT and it looks like it is finally going to happen. News during a special Square Enix livestream revealed that Tifa will be joining the fray in Japan July 3rd with no details on whether or not the release will be international at a later time.

For those not aware, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a 3D 3v3 fighting game that takes place in a multitude of different Final Fantasy universes. In the game, players can choose characters from every Final Fantasy game, heroes and villains, and duke it out until a team has lost three shared lives. Characters are characterized with different fighting styles. Mage/Marksman characters will be fighting mostly from a distance, harassing enemies to give teammates like the Vanguard the ability to get off their hard-hitting moves easier. The Specialist is the jack of all trades utilizing all types of attacks making them a real wild card but also require mastering. Last, the Assassin is quick and lethal as they can keep pressure on an enemy more easily.

Along with the announcement, a trailer has also been released featuring Tifa and quick look at some of her moves and abilities. Tifa undoubtedly falls under the assassin class and is sporting her classic look from Final Fantasy VII. It was also revealed she will have alternative looks like her outfit from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Childen.  Tifa utilizes quick punches and kicks that can close gaps quickly and interrupt a slow off guard player whose not staying on their toes. She still utilizes some range attacks however that are sure to throw off an approaching combatant. Take a look at the trailer released by Square Enix as mentioned.

Unfortunately, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT may have received some tough criticism after it’s launch and is no longer as popular in the west to this day. The game even became free to play with a few restrictions and can be downloaded from the PS store and Steam. Nevertheless, there will always be a strong support from fans and the fact Square Enix is still producing content for the game is a good sign.
