CD Projekt RED’s third and final game based on Geralt of Rivera, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been getting rave reviews across the board a week before its release; a far cry from the the review embargo shenanigans of EA and Ubisoft. Gamespot in particular awarded it an extremely rare 10/10 score.
Despite this, a game of its size and scope isn’t without several technical issues, and to that end the developer will be putting out a patch upon its release.
The technical problems include, chief among them, issues with the overall frame rate. A fan queried a CD Projekt developer, Marcin Momot, about this on Twitter, asking “Some PS4 reviews (IGN, Kotaku) mention framerate problems. Any chance for day-one improvements?” Momot then responded, “Yes. We’ve already addressed this issue. Framerate will be better once we official launch the game.”
In a separate tweet, he added that the patch “will be automatically available when the game officially releases.”
In other news, CD Projekt are building hype for The Witcher 3 by releasing a live action short film titled A Night to Remember. The full video will be released later today, but a teaser video can be viewed below.
The Witcher 3 will be out on May 19 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
