The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt The Complete Edition Next-Gen Update Coming Later This Year, Will Include New DLC Inspired by Netflix Show

Looks like we won’t be waiting too much longer for the next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild HuntNow going by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt The Complete Edition, CD Projekt Red has announced that the long-awaited update will be coming later this year, and will be applicable for those playing on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If that wasn’t enough, the company also revealed that there will be some brand new DLC included in this as well, all of which has been inspired by the Netflix television series adaptation which has become a worldwide success.

Announced during the first-ever Witchercon, the company did not divulge too much information regarding the Netflix DLC but did state that you will be able to dress up Geralt similarly to how he looks on the show, in which Geralt is portrayed by Henry Cavill. The studio added that they would provide more information at a later time. At the time time, they did not provide a release date for the newest version of the game, but since we’re already more than halfway through the year, we shouldn’t be waiting too much longer. When the upgrade was originally announced back in 2020, the company stated that the game would benefit from “a range of visual and technical improvements.”

We’ve gone over this a plethora of times, but The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is often regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time. It even topped our Top 50 Games of the Decade list, which is no easy feat considering the number of outstanding titles that were released during that time frame. It cemented CD Projekt’s standing in the gaming community for several years, until the recent troubles after the arduous launch of Cyberpunk 2077

Hopefully, we’ll find out more soon on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt The Complete Edition and when it will officially launch, but either way, we’re excited to play through this game all over again. On top of that, the company also announced that the second season of the Netflix show will debut on December 17, along with an animated prequel, Nightmare of the Wolf, coming August 23.
