The Witcher 3 Boasts Roughtly 200 Hours of Gameplay

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to be one of the most gargantuan games ever made, let alone of 2015, as made clear by a little factoid dropped by developer CD Projekt.

When queried by a fan on Twitter as to how long the game would be, main story and sidequests and all, the developer’s Senior Game Designer Damien Monnier replied: “mmmm hard to say, if you do everything I’d say 200+ hours.”

This is literally 100% more hours of gameplay than CD Projekt said the game would contain in the past, so the news is rather stunning. It will be interesting to see how The Witcher 3 holds players’ attentions for such an enormous amount of time.

At E3 last year, the developer emphasized that any area of the game world could be traveled to on foot, no matter how insanely distant it may seem. “If you can see it, you can go there” was a repeated phrase throughout their presentation.

Among other details dropped by Monnier include news that the game’s DLC will not only be free, but substantial in content, containing entire quests. Travel by boat will be possible, and will present a whole new set of dangers, such as aquatic monsters, storms, and rocks that can wreck your boat.

Additionally, despite its nudity, foul language and gore, The Witcher 3 will not be censored in Germany, a country notorious for forcing developers of violent games to swap human enemies for zombies or robots.

Barring any further delays, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this coming May 19.
