‘The Quiet Man’ Gets a New Story Trailer

Square Enix first teased The Quiet Man at E3 this past June, offering fans a brief live-action trailer alongside the game’s announcement. Now, two different videos have been published: a new story teaser for the game, and a combat gameplay footage reveal.

The first trailer, story driven with a mixture of CGI and live action, follows The Quiet Man‘s protagonist Dane. Here is Square Enix’s full accompanying synopsis of the game:

Unraveling within a single night, players take the role of deaf protagonist Dane as he fights his way through a “soundless” world to discover the motives behind the kidnapping of a songstress from a mysterious masked man. Embark on an adrenaline-fueled motion picture like experience which can be completed in one sitting.

In the trailer, we can see shots of Dane traversing a cityscape and nightclub. The rest of the trailer offers vague clues in the form of several strange objects (a note with individually cut out letters, a bird tied with ribbon, and a voodoo doll) and the phrase ‘silence rings loudest.’

Check out the first video below:

Next to that, Square Enix also delivered a video about The Quiet Man‘s combat. Based on the video, Dane’s fighting abilities look focused around hand-to-hand combat. There’s also no live action shots in this trailer, only clips taken directly from moments of the game where Dane is fighting off enemies. This video is even shorter than the previous one, but it’ll still give you an idea of The Quiet Man‘s combat style. Watch the video below:

The Quiet Man is going to be a download-only game for both the PlayStation 4 and PC (which can be purchased via Steam). As of right now, there is no announced release date for the game.

In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
