The PC Gaming Show Will be Livestreamed on June 6

PC Gamer has announced that their annual gaming show, The PC Gaming Show, will be returning this year and is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 6.  The event is still going forward with the ever-present worldwide ramifications of the COVID-19 Pandemic in mind, which forced ESA to completely cancel E3 2020. As expected, the show will be livestreamed through Twitch at the very least and is going to be part of “a larger day of programming.” IGN hasn’t stated whether this will be part of the Summer of Gaming event they’re planning, but we wouldn’t be surprised if this was included in some capacity.

As always, The PC Gaming Show unveils new PC games and updates to existing ones, with some being brand new exclusive reveals. This also involves showcasing new footage provided by the publishers and developers, some of which aren’t made privy during the much larger press conferences. The great thing about the PC Gaming Show is that they also give a lot of indie developers the spotlight to introduce us to some new and interesting projects they’ve been working on. Ever since the show’s inception in 2015, its popularity has grown exponentially. We covered the event in  2018, and 2019 and came away very impressed with both shows offerings.

PC Gamer has also stated that this year’s event will have eight partners, whose names will probably be attached to the banner during the actual show itself. This includes the Epic Game Store, Frontier, Guerrilla Collective, Humble Bundle, Intel, Merge, Perfect World, and Tripwire Interactive. The list is fairly similar to last year, and all of these companies have a major presence in the PC gaming market. PC Gamer has stated in the post that “participants and timing will follow shortly.”

While it can be argued that the major conferences such as Microsoft, Bethesda, and Nintendo have the larger audience, The PC Gaming Show is something that has more of a unique atmosphere to it and feels like a breath of fresh air. Despite the exclusivity with the PC platform, the event is always a must-watch for anyone in the gaming community as we get to see a plethora of quirky and interesting titles all in one show.

The PC Gaming Show is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 6, and will be livestreamed on Twitch.
