Fans of Lovecraftian horror should keep an eye out for The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, a Lovecraftian inspired jungle expedition game. Players can venture into the cursed jungle alone or with up to four friends, searching for the rumored Mound filled with treasures beyond their wildest imagination. However, the search is easier said than done as the jungle will distort reality and the players perception.
Onboard the galleon, players will prepare for their expeditions into the cursed wilds. They will sign a contract with the Captain, exchanging treasures they collect for gear. Their expedition team must split weapons and equipment, ensuring they are ready to venture deeper into the jungle for infinite riches. Though players should proceed with caution as the further they travel, the greater threats they will encounter.
On July 6, 2026, the game’s publisher, Nacon, uploaded a trailer that calls players into this treasure-hunting adventure. The trailer features a first-person POV, numerous enemies, and a range of weapons from guns to melee. The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu displays stunning graphics and highlights the grotesque Lovecraftian styled monsters.
Currently, the developers have set up four wishlist milestones, which will increase the Steam launch discount. They reached their second milestone (600,000 wishlists) and unlocked a 15% discount for the Steam community. As of today, they are over halfway to reaching their next milestone 800,000 wishlists. Their third milestone will increase the discount to 20% off at launch. This discount will apply to both the standard and deluxe editions.
Pricing for both versions was released on July 3rd, setting the standard edition at $29.99 and the deluxe at $39.99. The deluxe edition includes the Fortune Hunters Characters Pack, Abyssal Gear Pack (containing weapons and equipment), and the original digital soundtrack for the game.
Upon launch, players will also have a chance to download a free DLC titled “Temple of Yig.” It is an exclusive mission and only the host needs to have it installed for other players to participate. Players interested in the free DLC will need to claim in manually on the store page as it won’t be added on their account automatically.
An Early Adopters bonus will be available for the first two weeks of launch. The bonus features the Lost Explorer’s Swords Pack, which is a pair of ornate rapiers. The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu will release on July 15, 2026. It will be available on Steam, the Epic Game Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox consoles.
