The Latest Developments for Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix has been very kind to Final Fantasy XV fans with more information of the games nature slowly being revealed. There is still no official release date but Director Hajime Tabata has provided fans with more insight to FFXV’s progress.

Last week, Tabata sat down with Gamespot and highlighted several features that would be coming to the next installment of the series. FFXV is going to be one large open world, meaning players can literally hop on train or drive across country. “The idea was to make players feel all locations in the game are connected.” Real cultural references will be used for many of the towns in FFXV. Tabata even stated that one of the first towns shown was based off of Shinjuku, Japan. Also in the December trailer, several areas shown were based off of Havana, Cuba and Venice, Italy. New screenshots were recently released that showcased Final Fantasy XV game play in 1080p. The shots featured the games beautiful graphics and combat sequences, that can be seen in previous trailers.

Now more recently, Hajime Tabata spoke to Mexican gaming website Level Up, about the games upcoming release.

“Unfortunately I can’t tell you when it will be released, but I believe that we’d like to release it around the world,” Tabata says. “We’re not thinking about delaying the game in different parts around the world. We’d like to have everyone experience Final Fantasy XV together, and as close as possible.”

So instead of players waiting weeks after its release in Japan, Tabata would rather do a simultaneous launch worldwide. This is really exciting considering fans of the series are eagerly awaiting the official release date of the game. Though don’t get your hopes up when it comes to playing the demo. As reported early December 2014, players who pre-ordered Final Fantasy’s Type-0 HD Collector’s Edition would also be able to play special demo of Final Fantasy XV. In a recent Reddit Q&A, Hajime Tabata stated, “We are doing are best to have the demo playable with the release of Type-0 HD, but we are still working on optimizing the system and everything, so I can’t give you a date.”

Hopefully everything will be in working order so those who pre-ordered Type-0 HD Collection will be able to experience the Episode Duscae Demo. Final Fantasy XV is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Please visit their official website for more details.
