The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes Official Trailer and Release Date Revealed

The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes release date and official trailer was debuted June 10 at the Summer Game Fest Live event. The game was announced to be released on October 22 and just like its predecessor The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope, it will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. There will be a standard edition to the game as well as a boxed collectors edition that will be equipped with collectible stickers, a poster, a pin, and a creature figurine.

In the trailer, fans got to see a sneak peek of the creature they will have to survive against throughout the game. In this installment, the creature is a bat monster that lurks within the deep depths of a cave in the House of Ashes. This is the first time in this trilogy’s history that the developers of the franchise let gamers see what the terrifying monster is before actually playing the game. In previous trailers, characters are snatched out of view by the monster, and the creature is never revealed. With dragon-like wings and claws for teeth, this new creature is sure to give gamers quite the scare as they travel around the dark cavern.

The trailer also details some of the unfortunate events that lead to the soldiers being underground. When the soldiers get sent on an underground mission to expose a chemical weapons facility, they become caught in gunfire with an odd unrecognizable force, this causes the team to fall through a crack in the ground leading them to the underground. This begins the initial gameplay that will take gamers through the interactive survival horror game.

Pre-orders for the game went live yesterday and fans can now snag the popular game before it hits the market. Perfect timing as gamers can ensure they will get their hands on the new horror game before Halloween. In addition, everyone who orders the game ahead of time will receive access to the “Creator’s Cut,” a special perk of the series that usually doesn’t become available until 3 months after the game’s release.
