‘Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown’ Set in Hong Kong, will be Arriving in 2022

The third open-world entry in the Test Drive series, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, has officially gained a release date of September 22, 2022. The announcement was made during publisher Nacon’s livestream event, Nacon Connect, on July 7. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown’s 25-second teaser trailer showed players that the game will feature a 1:1 recreation of Hong Kong and will run on WRC 8 FIA World Rally Championship framework and handling model. The game will also differ from its predecessors as the road will now be placed on the left-hand side, a first for the franchise.

A notable feature of the game is the racing tournament. Players will engage in the head-to-head conflict between the two racing clans, the Streets and the Sharps. You’ll be able to join forces with one of them–trying to rise through the ranks while attempting to overthrow your rival clan in various different settings like urban areas, forests, mountains, marshes, and beaches.

Creative Director, Alain Jarniou stated during the Nacon Connect event, that Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has only been in development for ‘several months,’ meaning that the inner workings of the game have just gotten started. The game got its second teaser trailer in April of 2021. In this, Nacon showed off flashy cars, key fobs of luxury vehicles, male and female drivers, gambling casinos from the previous Test Drive games, and confirmation about what platforms the game would be released on. So far, we know that Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft, and Xbox Series X|S, with a new trailer arriving sometime this month.

Because fans haven’t received a new Test Drive game since Test Drive Unlimited 2, which was released back in 2011, the anticipation for the game has been on an all-time high. Hopefully, news of the confirmed release date can put Test Drive fans at ease as they now know when the game can be officially played.
