RoboCop: Rogue City Announced, Coming 2023 to PC and Consoles

During their special livestream event Nacon Connect, publisher Nacon has announced a new IP in that is in development. It’s none other than a brand new RoboCop title, going by the name RoboCop: Rogue City. The company also announced that the game has a tentative release time frame for sometime in 2023, and that it will launch for both PC and consoles. Players will play the titular RoboCop Alex Murphy, and will be tasked with once again protecting the city of Detroit.

We also got a very brief teaser trailer with this reveal. The trailer has the camera moving forward with a silhouette of buildings, lights, and shadows with a news anchor narrating the recent events of crime and asking who will help the citizens regain their peace. The title then comes into view which is then followed by a quick look at the leg of RoboCop who prepares to use his signature gun, the Auto 9 Pistol. Other than the reveal and the trailer, Nacon did not give any more information, and since the release time is still roughly two years away, it’s likely that we won’t hear anything about this for a while.

The character, RoboCop, is of course based of off the famous movie media franchise of the same name with the first film releasing in 1987. The film was followed by two sequels in 1990 and 1993 respectively, and a modern reboot in 2014. The developer, Teyon, has a bit of a history with bringing 1980’s action movies to the video game landscape. They’ve developed Rambo: The Video Game in 2014, and in 2019 created Terminator: Resistance. Both titles were a bit mixed upon release, but the studio does have the experience, and it’ll be interesting to see how the development goes over the next couple of years.

RoboCop: Rogue City will launch in 2023 for both PC and home consoles.
