Earlier today, Sea of Thieves announced their latest content update, including an extra spooky Halloween event. Dubbed Fort of the Damned, players will journey through a mysterious mist, encountering new and frightening enemies in search of a secret fort. Unravel the mystery of who is causing the world of the living to clash with the world of the dead.
Dark Forces have captured Old Boot Fort, located within the Ancient Isles, and are using it as their base of operations to commit unspeakable horrors. Stitcher Jim has gotten word that someone is using some unclaimed Dark Relics to open a gateway to the Sea of the Damned. Players will encounter new Shadow Skeletons and Skeleton Captains in their battle against evil. Defeating the skeletal baddies can award players with treasure maps leading to Ritual Skulls, needed to breach the fort. In addition to Ritual Skulls, players will need to collect different-colored Flames of Fate, which can be obtained only in death aboard the Ferry of the Damned.
After all of the Flames and enough Ritual Skulls have been obtained, players can journey to the Sea of the Damned via the Fort of the Damned. Once players enter the Sea of the Damned, they will encounter strong enemies blocking the path to untold riches and glory. Depending on how many Ritual Skulls a player has collected, they can repeat the adventure for even more gold.
After collecting enough gold to go around and then some, players can spend it on new cosmetic items in Duke’s Black Market, including cutlasses, hats, and more. New clothing sets have also been released, such as the Wild Rose set, Wailing Barnacle set, and an expansion of the Bone Crusher theme.
The Fort of the Damned update is out now in Sea of Thieves. You can check out the game’s website for complete patch notes, and check out the event video below.
