Teaser for the Last Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous DLC, A Dance of Masks, Drops

Never let it be said that Owlcat Games is one to drop past games once they’ve moved on to future projects. After their successful and stunning Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader released in December of last year, Owlcat has been hard at work patching and no doubt planning future DLCs for that game, but they haven’t neglected their past releases either. Owlcat’s 2021 release Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous has also been regularly updated since its release 2 years ago, and now we’re graced with a teaser for their last DLC for the game: A Dance of Masks.

In this teaser it looks like the main character of the main campaign, the Knight Commander, will be making their return. The main campaign is a long and bloody affair, a large scale war against demons from the mouth of the world, and it looks like A Dance of Masks will be a return to the city of Kenabres for a moree laid back DLC… on the surface. Obviously, there is a sinister undertone to the entire thing, and it may be an illusion or hallucination. The ending slide of the teaser shows several locusts plaguing the streets of the city, covering wrecks carts and corpses. This could be a hint that this whole thing is set up by Deskari, the locust lord and one of the primary antagonists of the main campaign. Or still, it could also be a set up by a Swarm That Walks, a monstrous creature made up of insects (and funnily enough, a form the Knight Commander can take).

These DLCs are a welcome addition to an already very packed game, obviously we’ll have an entire new area to see in this DLC, and we may even see some changes to the base game, maybe some improvements to the ending slides that some players have a bit of an issue with. Sadly, this is the last premium DLC for Wrath of the Righteous, but after 3 years it’s a long history of updates and fixes, and it’s fitting that such a labor of love goes out with a DLC set on a lovely (on the surface) vacation. A Dance With Masks will be available for download on June 13.
