Fortnite‘s Halloween event, Fortnitemares, returns once again. The event, which begins today and runs through November 4, will allow players to test their skill against the powerful Storm King as well as play some community-made game modes to get in the Halloween spirit. How will your squad stack up against the mighty Storm King?
If you’re looking to take on the Storm King, who originated from the less popular game mode Fortnite Save the World, you’ll need to hop into the Limited Time Mode. Once you’ve got your squad, you’ll be taken to the King’s island, where he’s got a host of minions for you to go through before taking him on. Like a lot of larger-than-life boss battles, you’ll be aiming for his weak spots, slowly whittling his health down until you claim victory. For your troubles, you’ll even be rewarded with the Storm Sail Umbrella.
If PvE isn’t your bag, you can try out the new community game mode called Mansion of Power, created by Axel Capek. In this chaotic free-for-all, it’s “first to five eliminations wins in a row. If you go down, your winstreak is reset,” according to the event page on the Epic website. The event will also feature few more limited-time community game modes (SPOILER WARNING), so be sure to give them all a shot.
New items will also be available for purchase in the shop for the event. Purchasing the Cryptic Curse Bundle will immediately unlock the Phantom Outfit and Time Keeper Back Bling. Players will also have the option to complete challenges to unlock more styles for the Phantom Outfit and Time Keeper Back Bling, as well as style options for the Backboard Back Bling and new sprays.
The Fortnitemare event is live now, so be sure to log in to get all the goodies as well as earn bragging rights for taking down the Storm King.
