Survival Horror Game, Chernobylite, Coming this Summer

The RPG survival horror game, Chernobylite, is close to leaving Early Access, and plans for the release of the full version are to happen in the coming months. It has been in Early Access since late 2019 and after several months it is now about 95% done with only the final mission and ending not being playable as of yet.

For those that have not heard of Chernobylite, it is set in, as the name suggests, Chernobyl. Developed by The Farm 51, Chernobylite is a non-linear RPG with a strong story as well as many choices that are to be made that will have impacts on the gameplay and the Zone as the game progresses. Players will play as an ex-employee of the Chernobyl power plant as they go back to investigate the disappearance of their beloved. There are multiple branching storylines and characters for players to discover and alternative endings to uncover. For those that are part of the Early Access, recently there was a huge patch to the game which includes new characters, new levels, as well as many gaming improvements and an improved save system. The developers have put in a lot of work to make the environment in Chernobylite as realistic as possible, even going as far as scanning the real Exclusion Zone.

We worked on the game by traveling to Ukraine and 3D-scanning the real Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, which is a huge area, full of ruins and contaminated places. We’ve managed to re-create many real-life objects, including the interiors of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

Chernobylite is expected to release in July 2021 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. There is also intended to be a native release for the PlayStation 5 later on this year. Right now it is 20% off on Steam from now until April 30 and any purchases made during Early Access will guarantee any post-launch DLCs for free.
