Street Fighter 6 Announces WWE Wrestler Zelina Vega As Color Commentary Option

Street Fighter and WWE Royal Rumble fans can both be excited by the first-ever collaboration between the two titans of combat entertainment – WWE Superstar and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Thea Trinidad, known by her ring name of Zelina Vega, is entering Street Fighter 6‘s commentary booth as a color commentary option.

Zelina Vega is a long-time fan of the series, and even came out decked in a full Juri Han cosplay for last night’s Royal Rumble in San Antonio, Texas to celebrate the announcement:

Zelina Vega will join popular fighting game community commentators and YouTubers like James “jchensor” Chen, Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez and Steve “TastySteve” Scott as selectable options in Street Fighter 6‘s real-time commentary feature, which will also support subtitles in “13 languages for increased accessibility.” If selected, Vega will help narrate matches with exciting and easy-to-understand pre-recorded gameplay explanations. Vega  expressed her long-time love for the Street Fighter franchise and her excitement at joining it:

“I’ve been an avid gamer since I was a child and a huge fan of Street Fighter. I can still remember epic matches with my brother, and I would always beat him with my favorite character Vega. It’s surreal to now be a part of this amazing franchise and I am honored and thankful for this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Street Fighter 6 promises to be “the next evolution of the Street Fighter series” with three unique new game modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub. The game will launch on June 2, 2023, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms.
