Story of Seasons is Getting a Mobile Game

There is to be another addition in the Story of Seasons franchise, but this time it is coming to mobile devices. This series was originally under the name Harvest Moon and the first title was published back in 1996, however, after almost two decades, the series made its way to America in 2014 under the new name, Story of Seasons. And now players will be able to play Story of Seasons on the go with their mobile devices for the first time.

Story of Seasons Mobile has been in development since 2019 and, as of yesterday, the first trailer showcasing the mobile experience was released. This title was authorized by Marvelous and is being developed by Tencent’s NExT Studio. In the trailer, the player steps off the train into this village called Xingulo Town at the start of their journey. Once there, players will be able to take part in the classic gameplay found in other Story of Seasons’ titles such as collecting resources, fishing, farming, tending to livestock, and other typical farm management aspects. One of the most exciting parts of the trailer is purely how nice the graphics look which seems to be on par with the other recent Story of Seasons games released on the Nintendo Switch.

Since 2020, the Chinese technology conglomerate, Tencent, has had a 20% stake in the Japanese developer and publisher Marvelous, which was the creator of the Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons series. With this new partnership and new funding, Marvelous is hoping to develop more games in the coming years.

Story of Seasons Mobile does not have a release window as of yet, but it will probably be released in Asia before making it over to the West. Until then, check out the other Story of Seasons games like Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town which was released recently, in late March, on the Nintendo Switch.
