Back when Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness was announced in April last year, two details stood out the most to long-time fans of the tri-Ace’s Fantasy/Sci-Fi RPG series: the 8-character parties, and a certain witch with a rather… eccentric outfit, which understandably caught the eye of many a gamer. Her name was later revealed to be Fiore Brunelli, and she received a formal introduction by way of character trailer today:
Fiore is one of the world’s most renowned mages, and she is the “Superior-in-Magic” of the Randock Kingdom’s esteemed Spellmark Research Institute. She’s a cool and collected individual who wields a multitude of wind, water, and dark-based spells in combat, which includes a rather chilling time stop spell that’s show in the trailer. As it turns out, her revealing getup has something to do with the magic rune carved into her leg.

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is the fifth entry in tri-Ace’s Star Ocean series. It takes place between the second and third games of the series, and follows three protagonists: Fidel Camuze, Miki Sauvester, and Relia. They will be joined by Fiore and a colorful cast of other characters as they set off to bring peace back to their troubled home planet of Feycreed.
Star Ocean 5’s mantra is seamless combat and flexibility. Players will be able to effortlessly switch between their 8 characters in the midst of combat, and your attacks will change depending on your proximity to the enemy. Transitions between combat, cutscenes, and overworld exploration touted to be seamless as well, making for a fluid gameplay experience.
