Last month, Square Enix announced that Adventures of Mana – a remake of 1991’s Final Fantasy Adventure with updated graphics – would be coming to North American and European regions. Unlike their Japanese peers, however, gamers from these regions did not receive the PlayStation Vita version of the game. Instead, only the iOS and Android versions of the game made their way overseas.
Many fans of the long-running Mana series were upset at the news in January, and they were disgruntled upon Adventures’ release this Wednesday. But a blog post written yesterday by Square Enix of Europe representative Dan Seto may be a beacon of hope for avid Mana fans.
Mr. Seto acknowledged that he had taken note of the West’s demand for Adventures’ Vita version, and that he had passed along Mana enthusiasts’ requests to the Adventures development team. In the blog post above, he relays the development team’s message to Mana fans:
Thank you for all of your comments on a PS Vita edition of Adventures of Mana.
We’ve been listening to your feedback and because of your passion for the game, we’re going to look into making a PS Vita version of Adventures of Mana for the west. We can’t guarantee we’ll be able to make this happen but we will see what we can do.
We’ll let you know if we have any news, so watch out for future updates and thank you for your support.
An official post on Square Enix of Europe’s Twitter invited fans who want a localized version of the Vita’s Adventures to reply to the blog post:
If you'd like to play Adventures of Mana on PS Vita let us know on the SE Blog!

As can be gleaned from the blog post’s comments section, Mana fans of all kinds are ecstatic for a potential Vita release of one of Square’s genre-defining RPGs.
No confirmation on a Vita release of Adventures of Mana has yet been given by Square Enix, though fans of the series would do best to keep an eye and an ear out for more news in the coming months.
