Even though PlayStation has said that they will not be at E3 this year, everyone in the gaming community has been waiting to learn more information on their upcoming games, Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, and The Last of Us Part II. The last time we got anything was at E3 2018. Since then, they have gone silent, but recent news suggests that more information might come later in the week. Earlier today, Kojima Productions and Hideo Kojima teased that new information for Death Stranding will be coming later in the week, and a new rumor suggests that The Last of Us Part II will also be getting a new trailer as well as a release date. Kojima Productions posted this on Twitter:
The countdown of #DEATHSTRANDING has started… May 29th.

Hideo Kojima seems to have posted a teaser for a new trailer. It has some footage but the biggest thing out of these teasers is the words “Create the rope”. We’ll have to wait and see what it means on May 29.

Spanish sites Gamereactor and Legion de Jugadores both say that The Last of Us Part II will be getting a new trailer this week and release date; however, neither has been able to confirm the news. Both outlets cite a source close to Sony.
With this news, it seems that Sony may be gearing up for another State of Play. The recent State of Play ended with new Final Fantasy VII footage and news that more information will be revealed in June. It seems like their next State of Play may focus on their big, upcoming games that everyone has been waiting to learn more about. We may find out on May 29 or not, but it looks like we’ll learn more sooner than later.
