Sonic Colors: Ultimate Recent Trailer Features Big Changes to the Game

Sonic Colors: Ultimate, the game being released for Sonic the Hedgehog’s 30th anniversary, has received a new trailer featuring all of the changes coming to the game. The two-minute trailer covers areas like graphics, visuals, and features, beginning with the upgraded visuals of the game. Running at 60-frames per second with support for 4K resolution, we can see that the lighting and graphics have received huge upgrades when compared to the Wii exclusive, Sonic Colors.  But one of the standout mentions in the trailer is ‘Rival Rush.’ In Rival Rush, players will race through different stages against Metal Sonic to unlock various reward items. Players will also be able to earn Park Tokens through Rival Rush races–giving them the ability to spend them on items for Sonic including boosts, auras, shoes, and gloves. Here is a run-down of the trailer’s most notably features:

A new power-up coming to the game referred to by the name of ‘Jade Ghost’ transforms Sonic as he will be given the ability to fly and pass through solid objects in order to reach hidden areas in the game. Customizable controllers will also be another added feature that will help players choose a suitable style fit for their gaming experience. ‘Tail Saves’ acts as checkpoints throughout the game. These Tail Saves will be hidden in stages and will take you back to safety if you need to be saved. Keep a watchful eye out for these as they will be difficult to find. Collecting a one-hundred count ring will give your Sonic temporary invincibility while boosting your score after each level. And finally, the game’s music will be customizable to you! The fully remixed soundtrack is set to the pace you play.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate is launching on September 7 for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store. And if you happen to get your hands on a physical copy, they will come with a Sonic keychain and the digital deluxe will let you play the game early and include customizable skins.
