Solarpunk Dropped June 8th with Relaxing Launch Trailer

Solarpunk, a new Indie game, by developers Cyberwave and publishers rokaplay and Metaroot, dropped June 8th. It’s a game where one can escape the worries of life by using a first person pov to experience crafting, building, fishing and the rest of the world of Solarpunk

The trailer highlights the peaceful charm of the game, it shows off the scenic view of a farm with a lake and greenhouse as nature sounds in the background, alongside a peaceful narration. The playable character opens their eyes, watching birds fly as they look at the clouds, inadvertently showing the landscape of the game that’s full of trees, land and some floating islands. The character cuts a tree, a different pov shows two characters watching the tree fall down. The character fishes, builds a hen coop, a well, and spends time watering newly planted crops.

The trailer expands more on the world, showing the floating islands as a whole. There the player builds a house from walls, to stairs, to the roof, including adding trees and clutter in the build. The trailer shows off a few “decorated” parts of the build and a fully designed building among others. The scene shifts and a small airship zips by a huge house with lots of greenery, one airship turns to four as characters seem to be able to travel in these airships, while playing individually or collaboratively according to the trailer, the trailer shows a short clip of the flying mechanic as the playable character moves around the world.

A timelapse build of two houses, a farm plot and an airship dock ensues, before showing a farm and solar power craft spot held by multiple players as the narrator states “Care for animals, craft new devices and harness the power of sun and wind.” By showing two wind turbines and another unknown device, since it seems when a blue glowing line or rope is connected from the turbines to objects, in this case a sprinkler, the object starts working, showing how to use the power generated. A full blown “energy” grid with switches, and connections on a farm fills the screen as interconnected sprinklers water multiple farming plots.

There are mini ships that lift off, then a view of the airship’s info board. Through the airships, players can visit multiple islands, each with exciting “new resources” such as rocks with gems, and more, “new ideas and new stories,” as the character crafts a new “Drill” and runs with others into the woods, then transverses a huge storm via airship. Those interested can play Solarpunk on Steam, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox On PC, Xbox Cloud, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation and Epic Games Store according to the trailer.
