Smilegate’s Crossfire X Releases First Official Campaign Trailer for Xbox

Crossfire X’s first campaign trailer has finally been released. Set to release in 2020, Crossfire X is developed by Remedy Entertainment and Smilegate and published by Smilegate and Xbox Game Studios. Crossfire X will also be for Xbox One as well as the newest console Xbox Series X. Though there is little information about the game, Smilegate CEO Ina Jang and the official Xbox website have publicized some information in how the game will be developed and what it may entail in the future.

“If I could share some of the secrets behind the success of CrossFire, we did focus a lot on our localization strategy for the title, in order to gear toward very specific details of players’ needs.” – stated in an interview with Smilegate CEO Ina Jang. “We try to stick to the core features of our game, like that sense of scoring a hit and the speed that are the inherent strengths of CrossFire. We can’t say exactly when it will be launched, but the focus will be on high-end visuals combined with the inherent strengths of CrossFire.”

As for the game concept, Crossfire has always been a first-person shooter. Players choose to enlist either as the “Black List” or “Global Risk” team as part of a global conflict. By joining a team, players can then cooperate to complete various missions and objectives within a given scenario. Once players finish each gameplay, progress can be maintained by following a ranking system. Starting from Trainee, each player can work their way up to the highest level Marshall and customize their character skins and resources with in-game items.

There is also a high chance for “a variety of classic and innovative multiplayer modes accessible to players of all skill levels and interests” – stated on the official Crossfire X website. In the previous Beta testing, the game offered three different types of modes: Team Match, Spectre, and Point Capture. Team Match focuses on protecting a bombsite, similar to the well-known Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CSGO); Spectre is similar to Team Match with a near to invisible offensive team only attacking the other team with a knife; lastly, Point Capture allows players to battle in teams of eight until either reaches 150 eliminations. With these Beta previews, there is much to look forward to in the various modes once the game releases in 2020.
