Lab Zero games has announced a collaboration with Limited Run Games in order to release a limited edition physical version of Skull Girls 2nd Encore. The physical version of the game will be available for the PlayStation 4 and the PS Vita. Developer Lab Zero Games announced this physical release of the game via Twitter. Skull Girls is a popular and independently developed 2D fighting game. The game consists of players fighting each other in either one on one, two on two, or three on three competition.
The physical version of Skull Girls 2nd Encore will retail at $39.99 USD. The physical release of Skull Girls 2nd Encore will be available for pre-order starting October 31st and will be open for pre-order for two weeks after that. This limited physical release can be pre-ordered here, on Lab Zero Games’ online retail store. The physical release will include: a disc copy of Skull Girls 2nd Encore, a slip cover of the game, a soundtrack “special selections” CD, and a full color instruction manual for Skull Girls 2nd Encore.
Pre-orders begin on Monday October 31st, Halloween but there is also a goal number for the pre-orders of Skulls Girls 2nd Encore’s physical release. If there are over 10 thousand orders placed for the physical release, developer Lab Zero Games will patch the Japanese voice acting for Skull Girls 2nd Encore for no extra charge. In a tweet, the company explained that this is due to licensing issues with the Japanese voice acting. It would be too expensive otherwise, but if the goal of 10 thousand orders is met, it would cover the cost of licensing.
Skull Girls 2nd Encore’s physical release is set to ship sometime in January 2017 for those who pre-order. Our previous stories regarding Skull Girls can be read here and here.
