Silent Hill: Townfall is the fifth game to be featured in the rapid fire trailer lineup for PlayStation’s State of Play event on June 2, 2026. Developed by Screen Burn Interactive Limited, formerly known as No Code Limited, and published by Konami, this game is the tenth spinoff of the Silent Hill series. Remaining true to the franchise’s brand, Silent Hill: Townfall is widely classified as a psychological thriller.
The game follows Simon Ordell, a new protagonist in the world of Silent Hill, as he is “called back to the island of St. Amelia to ‘put things right’.” He later encounters “a town lying quiet beneath a heavy fog, seemingly abandoned but not at rest.” Playing as Simon, fans are encouraged to continue “venturing deeper”, uncovering “fragments of a past rising to the surface.”
The State of Play trailer sets the scene with an eerie soundtrack that quickly changes pace. Viewers are immediately confronted with a red, zombie like creature. This quickly cuts to opening footage of the fog of St. Amelia, panning to a flickering light in one of the seemingly abandoned buildings, causing Simon to shout “Hey! Who’s there?”. The camera then cuts to a mysterious voice coming from Simon’s radio, later disclosed to belong to a woman named Zoe, who appears to have a previously established connection with Simon. The trailer ends with a cutscene bathed in red lighting, depicting Simon standing in the middle of protest signs, delivering the line “God, I’m so sorry.” A red static then covers the screen, warning both Simon and players to “fear the truth behind the static.”
Silent Hill: Townfall was announced back in 2022, and has posted a handful of trailers since then, via social media. Now though, fans have a definitive release date of September 24, 2026. It will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 5, and it is currently unknown whether it will be released on other gaming platforms. Both the State of Play stream and the abbreviated trailer are depicted for viewing below, respectively.
