Sifu Sells 500 Thousand Units in Less Than Three Days Since Launching

SloClap’s newest IP, Sifuis doing well so far, so much so that it’s been getting a generally good reception since it released earlier this week. The game did spark tiny bit of controversy as some have been saying that the title’s difficulty has been preventing them from progressing, which was subsequently addressed by the developer. Despite this, the game has been selling very well, as SloClap has just revealed that Sifu has now sold 500 thousand units since it launched roughly a few days ago, an astounding achievement.

It’s important to note that SloClap did not specifically state whether the game sold over 500 thousand units, or just made the mark when they announced it. If the former is true then we’d imagine that the actual number is exponentially higher by now, and if the latter is accurate, then they’re more than likely going to increase that statistic in a very short time frame. Either way you look at it, this is an extremely impressive feat for a digital-only game that is only readily available for Sony’s home consoles and the PC market. If it was on an Xbox system and it was put on the Game Pass, we’d imagine that those sales numbers would be astronomically higher.

As we already mentioned, Sifu’s gameplay was a critical point from players as the biggest complaint came in regards to the high learning curve. SloClap quickly responded by revealing the aforementioned quality of life patch that adds an easier difficulty mode, as well as an even harder mode for those who wish to try. They’re also adding in more accessibility options such as better captions and a higher contrast option for the visuals which was apparently being bugged out on the console versions.

Sifu is available now for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
