For fans of games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King is about to finish its early access. It has been in development since its Kickstarter campaign in 2016 and in early access for over a year. But finally, it is ready for a full release in less than a month.
Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King is the third open-world game to come out of the French development studio, Redlock Studio. In the game, players will travel through a ruined world known as Hypnos, courtesy of the disappearance of the last king, and try to piece together what happened to civilization. They will play as a character known as a Wanderer. There are survivors for players to talk to, however, you should be cautious as some will seek to use you for their own gain. In their journey, they can use a variety of fighting techniques when they inevitably encounter many enemies. Anything from short-ranged combat with a sword to more long-ranged combat skills including magic. As you advance through the game, you can upgrade your skills, weapons, and spellcasting abilities. However, a distinctive difference with Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King compared with Dark Souls is its introduction of platforming game mechanics.
Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King is currently available on PC and will be out of early access on February 17. Right now, the game is available for $24.99, however, the price will probably increase a bit when it fully releases. There is no word as of yet if there are any plans for a release on console.
