SEGA Reveals Content Roadmap For Sonic Frontiers For 2023

SEGA revealed its plans for Sonic Frontiers with three, free DLC updates coming to the game next year in 2023. No release dates have been given but we do know what each update will bring to the game. The updates will add new modes, new Koco, new playable characters, and more.

Update 1 will add the jukebox, photo mode, and new challenge modes. Update 2 will have Sonic’s Birthday, an open zone challenge, and new Koco. Update 3 brings in new story content and playable characters including Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, and a character from Frontiers. Each character will have their own unique skills for battle and exploration. As of now, it’s unclear if the characters can be played in the main sandbox or the Cyberspace levels inspired by the classic Genesis games.

In addition to the free DLC, SEGA also revealed that fans can download the free Holiday Cheer Suit DLC set to launch on December 21. This provides Sonic some festive gear to wear while he races around Starfall Islands.

Fans of Sonic and Build-a-Bear can now get the Blue Blur and Knuckles as part of the new plush collection based on the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie. There are three different gift sets to choose from.

Sonic and Knuckles are available for $32. A Gift Set features the character and a Gold Ring Wristie. The Deluxe Gift Set includes Sonic’s red shoes, the Gold Ring Wristie, and a 5-in-1 sound chip that contains phrases from the film. The Sonic Gold Ring Wristie and Red Shoes can be purchased separately for $7.50 and $9.50.

Customers can also get Sonic-themed outfits for their Build-a-Bears. This includes a Sonic PJ sleeper for $13.50 and a Sonic and Tails T-shirt for $8.50. These are also part of gift sets. The Sonic PJ Sleeper gift set costs $33.50 and the Sonic & Tails gift set is $38.50.

Sonic Frontiers is now available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
