Sea of Thieves Tall Tales – Shores of Gold Coming April 30

Sea of Thieves is no stranger to adding in new content to its repertoire since it came out in 2018. And one of the biggest hits it got was that there wasn’t enough content in the game. So developers Rare took on the challenge to make sure there would be enough for both story driven fans, and for those who do PvP. So in came the Arena, and in came some major DLC. But it wasn’t until the upcoming anniversary of it’s release, that Rare is putting something out that’s much bigger. And that is the brand new Tall Tales – Shores of Gold campaign:

Not only does the trailer look and sound amazing, but it’s completely set up like a cinematic movie to bring players in.

The Shores of Gold campaign is bringing in a lot of content. Namely, the nine lengthy chapters of the campaign story. It teams up up to 4 players set out on a quest to find these said Shores of Gold, which is an island said to be lost a long time ago. The small crew of pirate players will have to find ancient artifacts, solve riddles, navigate traps, and encounter strong enemies to find the shores.

Speaking of enemies, Shores of Gold introduces a new kind of enemy The Skeleton Lords. The Skeleton Lords can only be faced by pushing through the story, and they’re much more stronger than the previous skeleton adversaries. And, it is warned that they’re full of surprises, which can only mean players will have to think quick on their feet.

To start this new adventure, players have to meet with the Mysterious Stranger in any tavern. There players can begin their quest and adventure in the hunt for the island. There will be new characters introduced, as well as old ones. It’s advised that players keep an out for a familiar faces from the Sea of Thieves novel, Athena’s Fortune.

Sea of Thieves “Tall Tales – Shores of Gold” will be available on April 30, 2019. A little late for the full one year anniversary, but the wait seems to be worth it. For more information about the upcoming campaign, check out the official page on the Sea of Thieves website.
