

Developer Sabotage Studio has released a brand new release date trailer for ‘Throes of The Watchmaker’, the anticipated downloadable update to the indie role playing game Sea of Stars. Gematsu shares that the update will launch on May 20, features up to eight hours of content in new areas, music, dungeons, mini-games, enemies, bosses and puzzles. Also included are two new playable classes for the game’s leads Valere and Zale and a brand new party member named Arty.
The setting of Throes of The Watchmaker is a magical miniature clockwork world called Horloge, a land threatened by a cursed carnival. Players will assume the roles of the two main protagonists of Sea of Stars; Zale who has traded in his signature sword to become a juggler and Valere who sets aside her staff to dazzle as an acrobat. The duo will fight alongside a newcomer Arty, an artificial mechanized laser-wielding sharpshot.
Throes of The Watchmaker features never before seen areas, puzzles and enemies with a unique storyline. From the Gematsu press release “Throes of the Watchmaker”‘s cinematic budget is equivalent to that of the main game, allowing Sabotage to richly realize key narrative moments” The title also features a unique score from Sea of Stars lead composer Eric W. Brown in collaboration with Yasunori Mitsuda of Chrono Trigger fame.
Sea of Stars ‘Throes of The Watchmaker’ is following on the heels of ‘Dawn of The Equinox’ an update that added cooperative play and other refinements. With Sabotage Studios track record of delivering content that has kept fans pleased, it stands to reason that this update may do just the same. We’ll know for certain once the title releases; Throes of The Watchmaker will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
