It looks like much of the speculation discussed in the past about Rainbow Six: Siege’s new content is coming true. Ubisoft has dropped a new video as well as artwork connected to the new upcoming update Operation Ember Rise. The artwork seems to look very similar to the leaked images discussed in a previous topic and a new video shows the grappling hook and explosive shield being tested in a short comical video. Looks like players can expect the new South American operators will make combat a lot more interesting with their arsenal.
The video begins with Elena Alvarez, also known as the defender Mira, introducing the gadgets and perfecting her craft. It seems that Mira has become a bit of a Macgyver for the Rainbow Six team. Some time ago, we saw a picture of her with the newest operator Nokk working on her gadget. Here we saw a glimpse of the grappling hook and explosive shield on a drawing board. In the video, we get a small touch of humor, something reminiscent to Portal, as the grappling hook fails repeatedly on a testing dummy until Mira gets the velocity just right. She then shows the new shield as it gets placed with an explosive canister on its rear side. A mechanical arm pulls out a gun and blows up the canister as the footage then cuts.
Everything revealed seems just as Kormora had predicted with his inside source. Kormora also showed us some images of what the operators may look like in the next update. One operator looking like a demolitionist, and the other an archeologist. The newest image released by Ubisoft only shows the backside of the new operators but there is no doubt that these are the same people in the leaked images.
Looks like players can expect to swing around like Spiderman and blow up the unsuspecting bum rusher with the new gadgets. The new South American operators are sure to change up the game in certain aspects. See the full reveal of the new operators during the Raleigh Major Finals on August 18th.
