Royal Crow Announces Lovecraftian Extraction Shooter Waste The Fallen for PC

South Korean developer Royal Crow has announced Waste The Fallen, Lovecraftian extraction first-person shooter set in a cosmic-horror world, for PC via Steam as a free-to-play title. No release date has been set, but a closed alpha test for North American players is scheduled to run from September 4 to September 8, with sign-ups open now.
In Waste The Fallen, players step into the role of Deviants, scavengers braving a ruined underworld known as the Deep to extract valuable gear. Whether running solo or in squads of up to three, the goal is to get in, grab the loot, and make it out alive. The hellscape is infested with Fallen, grotesque monsters born from the world’s collapse, alongside deadly environmental hazards and rival Deviants looking to score the exact same payload. The game drops scavengers into decaying zones packed with weapons, materials, and rare items. Pushing further into the Deep guarantees better rewards, but the danger ramps up right alongside the payoff. Any resources successfully extracted go toward upgrading the Bio-Arm equipped by every Deviant, unlocking a steady stream of new abilities for future runs. The game relies on a deeply unsettling atmosphere where zones grow stranger over time. Players must manage a Sanity system, listening closely to decide whether to fight or flee. Unlike typical extraction games, the loop is quite forgiving. An oversized safebox protects most loot upon death, and cheap crafting softens the blow of failed raids. Between runs, players upgrade a customizable hideout for deeper descents.
Developer Royal Crow brings serious Korean online shooter pedigree to the project. Led by Baek Seung-hoon, known for his work on Sudden Attack, the Tencent-backed studio is pivoting from military combat to cosmic horror. Built in Unreal Engine 5, Waste The Fallen is their first major release since the short-lived 2022 shooter CROWZ. Producer Byungnam Choi states the game is a direct response to the notoriously unforgiving extraction genre. By channeling Korea’s rich horror tradition, the team aims to create a welcoming experience that rewards player curiosity over rigid caution.

Waste The Fallen is available to wishlist now on Steam, and the closed alpha is open for sign-ups.
