Rotaeno is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a free download period. Dream Engine Games’ rotary rhythm game debuted on May 13 last year, and with over fifty thousand downloads, the developers wanted to spread their appreciation to the world.
During this anniversary, Rotaeno will receive a plethora of updates and community-based events that coincide with the momentous occasion. The developer, Dream Engine Games, aims to garner the attention of rhythm game lovers from all over to participate in this one-of-a-kind opportunity. The free download period for Rotaeno will start on May thirtieth and end on May 31. This gives plenty of interested newcomers a forty-eight-hour window to download the rhythm for free.
Other perks will be released as well. The in-game store will have a fifty percent discount on all music packs until June thirteenth, so players have a ton of old and new songs at their disposal including an optional on that features six Vocaloid classics. Plus, Dream Engine Games is adding a global leaderboard and a friend system to make the gaming experience of Rotaeno even more sociable among their community.
Dream Engine Games made their rotary rhythm game different from most by utilizing the gyroscope on smartphones. This mechanic makes it impertinent for players to build up on their timing skills since gameplay is designed around the precise timing of the rotation of the smartphone to land on notes. Plays must tilt their phone at certain angles to collect notes and other visual signals through the rotation of a judgement circle in order to complete levels. This method of traversing and collecting is meant to imitate the steering of a spaceship through the vastness of outer space and its many wonders: meteor belts, supernovas, and more. Rotaeno is the first of its kind to use a mechanic like this in such a way and it has pleasantly taken many people by surprise.
In addition, the narrative within the game is immensely captivating and immersive. You follow the story of Ilot who is on a cosmic journey to find her long-lost friend after being stuck on a bunch of dangerous, inhospitable planets for years. As she explores different planets and solar systems: Ilot meets new faces, aids in planetary issues, and uncovers clues about her friend’s disappearance. All the while, the player gets to watch her grow as a character.
The forty-eight free download period for Rotaeno will be available on TapTap, Google Play, and the App Store for Apple. Once the anniversary comes to an end, the game will return to its original pricing of $2.99.
