Rockstar Provides More Details Of Red Dead Online Update Arriving Next Week

Last Week, Rockstar shared details on some of the fixes that will be coming in the next Red Dead Online update coming on February 26. These included details on new law and bounty system, weapons balancing, and changes to player blips on the mini-map. Today, Rockstar has provided more details on some of the content that will be coming in the update.

One of the new additions is a new free roam event called Fool’s Gold. Players will compete to control a protective suit of Golden Armor. You earn points by taking down the wearer and when you gain kills while in the armor.

Fishing Challenges are now a part of Competitive Challenges. They will be broken down by type and equipment will be provided, including a fishing rod and lures. You will also be safe from anyone who gets too trigger-happy while you are taking on a fishing challenge.

Three new showdown modes are coming to the game as well. Players and teams will compete to capture and deliver bags, steal loot from each other and survive. More details will be provided later for Up in Smoke, Spoils of War, and Plunder. Races will get updated with Target Races. Players will have to shoot targets from horseback to pass checkpoints as they race along a track.

There will be Early Access content available for PlayStation 4 owners. These include Open Target Races where players compete to take out the most targets on horseback in open space. PlayStation 4 players also get early access to the Jawbone Knife, which is a unique melee weapon. Three new emotes and new clothing options are also available as Sony exclusives as well.

New weapons coming to the game include the Evans Repeater, a high grade, high capacity rifle, and the Rare Shotgun. Both weapons will be available via the catalog and gunsmiths.

New Clothing and Emotes will also be arriving in Red Dead Online. These range from the snake-adorned Diamondback Hat to the Rutledge Vest. There will also be new jackets, boots, coats, gloves, hats, vests, outfits and more. There will be unique special items that will rotate through as well. Alongside the new clothing options, new emotes will be available. These include everything from greets to taunts and reactions. Furthermore, anyone who plays Red Dead Online this week will earn 20% more XP on all activities ahead of all the new updates coming to the game next week.
