It looks like Konami isn’t the only one gearing up for some horror gaming updates. Capcom has announced that they will have another one of their Resident Evil Showcases which is set to take place later this week on Thursday, October 20 at 3:00 PM PDT, 6:00 PM EDT, and 11:00 PM BST. The event will be focused on two main titles, Resident Evil Village Gold Edition and the highly anticipated remake of Resident Evil 4. The showcase will be streamed on their official Twitch channel.
Capcom didn’t offer any more information as to what we can expect but these two titles alone are worth the admission and wait. Resident Evil Village Gold Edition is of course the definitive edition of Resident Evil Village, which launched in early 2021 to a positive reception. The Gold Edition will include the main game, all of the post-launch downloadable content, a brand new third-person mode to the main campaign, and several new characters to use in the Mercenaries multiplayer mode. The game will also include the upcoming Winters Expansion which is set to launch later this month on October 27.
The bigger draw here is some potential new information in regard to the remake of Resident Evil 4. The remake was initially revealed during the Capcom Showcase this past Summer, in which we learned that the title will be more of a reimagining of the all-time 2004 classic similar to how they remade Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. We also know that you’ll be able to walk and aim your gun at the same time, a mechanic that is still fairly new to the Resident Evil franchise if you can believe that. Either way, we won’t have to wait long to find out what Capcom has in store for us.
