Resident Evil Revelations Sequel in the Works

Capcom’s non-numerical installment to the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil: Revelations, will see its continuation with the confirmation of the survival-horror Resident Evil: Revelations 2 by the Japanese publisher/developer. It is charted for release in North America and Europe in Early 2015 for PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox One and 360, and PC. The 3DS, the platform that the previous Revelations” title was originally an exclusive for, is left behind at camp on this venture.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be released in four episodes. According to a release from Capcom, each installment will feature hours of gameplay and cliffhangers in between episodes that instill interest to see what happens next. The game will feature a story mode, as well as additional modes yet to be revealed.

Each episode will be priced at $5.99 USD. A “Complete Season” will also be released, which ensures that fans get each episode as they are released. The Complete Season will contain all four episodes, as well as currently unspecified additional content, for $24.99 USD. A “Full retail disc version” is planned for release after the digital release of the fourth episodic installment. This $39.99 physical package includes all of the content from the Complete Season, as well as additional unspecified content that is separate from the additional content in the Complete Season.

Revelations 2 features the elusive Resident Evil 2-originated Claire Redfield and Moira Burton, daughter of Barry Burton (from the game that started it all). Both protagonists work for the anti-bioterrorism outfit, Terra Save. They are knocked unconscious during a welcoming party for Burton, her being a new recruit for Terra Save. They awaken in a desolate detention facility on a remote island and must escape and find out why they were taken and by whom.

A trailer for the game was released and is found below. For updates on Resident Evil: Revelations 2, check out its official webpage.
