Earlier this year, the official reveal for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was met with lukewarm reception after it was clear that the game will contain live service elements such as a Battle Pass with cosmetics as rewards. Another element that was confirmed that was met with backlash was the fact that the game will always require an online connection. Following the gameplay reveal, a delay to the game was reported. Following the official reveal of the game, there have been reports that the game has been delayed. New information has been revealed today saying that the delay was made in order to further polish the game and not rework any of its live service elements.
As of now, no official announcement of a delay has not been announced. Jason Schreier, who reported the delay of the game said “Rocksteady has not yet announced the Suicide Squad delay, perhaps because there’s still no new date. Staff were told a few weeks ago it’s coming later this year but they still don’t know when. Possible it slips to 2024, but one thing seems certain: The core game isn’t changing.”
VGC editor Andy Robinson talked about the game and the reports of the delay. “It’s interesting, because some of the people I’ve spoken to who are working on that game actually have a lot of positive things to say about it, especially compared to Gotham Knights. “I’ve been told that this is not another Gotham Knights, that everyone who’s working on it is actually quite optimistic about the combat loops they’ve made and the game world and things like that. So from what I’ve heard, I’d kind of be surprised if they’re really rebuilding it in any significant way because it sounds quite positive.”
