Square Enix Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida has given the fans a notice for another trailer, sort of. Yoshida, or Yoshi P as he’s know by his fanbase, spoke at the Tokyo Game Show 2022 when his upcoming title, Final Fantasy XVI, won the Future Division award at the event. When asked about more information on the title, Yoshida responded that despite not being able to talk to any marketing public relations teams, he still thinks “We’ll probably be able to release the next trailer next month or so.”

Should this statement come to pass, then we’re in for a brand new Final Fantasy XVI in the next couple of months. Considering that the title is due out in Summer 2023, which is now less than a year, this would be a most welcome addition for those who want to hear more about what is quickly becoming a very anticipated release. Yoshida also stated that once the trailer is out, he’s hoping that he’ll be able to give fans an actual release date, which would be a most welcome tidbit of information. The current time frame for the title’s release is Summer 2023.
This past July Yoshida gave us a whole plethora of information in regards to the upcoming title. This included a lot of the gameplay mechanics, cuteness, and some other aspects. We also learned that Final Fantasy XVI’s fighting mechanics will be more action oriented similarly to Final Fantasy XV. Since Square Enix did not show anything new for the title at the actual Tokyo Game Show, this is the perfect time for Yoshida and company to give us a brand new and fresh take on the upcoming JRPG. Hopefully they’ll be able to follow through on that trailer, and the aforementioned release date.
Final Fantasy XIV will launch exclusively for the PlayStation 5 in Summer 2023.
