Rebel Wolves is a new studio that was founded on February of 2022 and is comprised of ex-CD Projekt Red developers that mainly worked on The Witcher series. The reason for their emergence was the desire to run a studio under their own terms and making the team’s mental health come first according to their website mission statement. Also according to their website, they have been hard at work on a brand new AAA dark fantasy RPG that is meant to be the first in a long series. Well, earlier today we got more news regarding that title including the first art of the game and the official title, Dawnwalker. It is also known that Ex CD-Projekt member Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz will the the game’s creative director he also having worked on Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The artwork is most exciting as it features a person wielding a black blade while the image is mainly in red. Considering the track record of the team behind Rebel Wolves, this could potentially be one of the bigger releases of whatever year it comes out. As of now there’s nothing else known apart from the information already given, but with this announcement, we can expect to hear more and more tidbits in the coming months.
As for speculation on the title and the image, the name DawnWalker brings a lot to mind immediately as a lot of stories in relation to Vampires refer to them as nightwalkers and the use of blood red engulfing the image may also be alluding to a nightmarish undead adventure. As we know this game will be a dark fantasy RPG and that could include a plethora of dark denizens.
