Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Gets Beautiful Gameplay Trailer, Focused State of Play Set for Later This Week

One of the most anticipated titles of 2021 is easily the PlayStation 5 exclusive Ratchet and Clank: Rift ApartThe title is set to officially launch on June 11, just little less than two months away from now. As one of the few newer titles to really put the PlayStation 5 through its paces, the hype for those who were able to get their hands on the new console is at an all-time high. Insomniac Games has decided to raise the bar even further by releasing a brand new gameplay trailer that is absolutely stunning in terms of graphical prowess. As if this wasn’t enough, Sony also announced that there will be a brand new State of Play completely dedicated to Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and will show off more than 15 minutes of gameplay.

The trailer is arguably everything we wanted and more from Insomniac Games. We also got a closer look at the female Lombax counterpart to Ratchet, who has now been identified as Rivet. She is also voiced by none other than veteran voice actress Jennifer Hale, whose resume includes FemShep from Mass Effect, Samas Aran in Metroid Prime, Bastilla Shan from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Kronika from Mortal Kombat 11.

According to Insomniac, Rivet is a Lombax from another dimension. She will also be playable in the game, just like the titular hero Ratchet, making her one of the few characters to be playable in the entire series besides the standard duo. Besides her introduction, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart shows us glimpses of both cutscenes and gameplay, with the former giving us the classic Ratchet and Clank humor and the latter dazzling us with amazing next-generation graphics.

As we already mentioned, Sony will have their next State of Play this week on April 29 and will be focused on roughly 15 minutes of new gameplay from Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. That’s already exciting enough, but we could also be in for some extra surprises during this event. Thankfully, we won’ have to wait long for the next State of Play, which will take place this Thursday, April 29 at 2:00 pm PDT/5:00 pm EDT on their official Twitch and YouTube channel.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will officially launch for the PlayStation 5 on June 11.
