Q*bert X RepliCade Miniature Arcade Cabinet Announced, Launching Later This Year

New Wave Toys has announced a new addition to the their miniature arcade cabinet selection. This time the cabinet will house one of the all-time classics, Q*bert, and will be dubbed the Q*bert X RepliCade, a complete 1/6-scale of the 1982 title. It comes with the original title, and it also has Warren Davis’s previously unreleased sequel to the classic, Faster Harder More Challenging Q*bert. The cabinet will feature a diagonally mounted four-way joystick, a fully-functional mini knocker coil for when Q*bert falls off of the pyramid, and will have plug-in-play functionality for HDTV’s.

In addition, New Wave Toys is also releasing a Warren Davis Edition of the cabinet. Dubbed the Q*bert X RepliCade: Warren Davis Edition, this limited version will have all of the aforementioned features of the regular one, and a Q*bert’s gibberish marquee, preproduction side panel, bezel, and CPO artwork, Gottlieb raised letter coin door, Replica mini decal set, and a Mini decal set. Both cabinets have been created with the original design in mind, something that New Wave Toys is very familiar with. The company has created a plethora of 1/6 arcade cabinets over the years for classic titles including Asteroids X RepliCadeStreet Fighter II: Champion Edition X RepliCadeTempest X RepliCade, Centipede X RepliCade, Dragon’s Lair X RepliCade, and 1942 X RepliCade.

As we already mentioned, Q*bert is a classic arcade title that launched in 1982. I involves the titular character bouncing around on a pyramid avoiding numerous enemies including the famous Coily the Snake. While not as popular as the video game characters that would follow, Q*bert remains one of the most beloved and important video game franchises from the arcade machine days. Both arcade cabinets are available to pre-order right now and will ship sometime in Q4 2021. The Q*bert X RepliCade will cost $129.99 and the Q*bert X RepliCade: Warren Davis Edition will cost $149.99. You can check out the gallery of what both cabinets will look like right here!
