PUBG Corp. Plans To Donate $2 Million To Gaming Charities This Year

PUBG Corporation, the developer behind online multiplayer title PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is giving back in a big way this year by pledging $2 million to various charity gaming events. The ultra popular game had a pretty spectacular 2017 from breaking concurrent user records to the official Xbox One release.

Now, the developers are looking to turn their success into something good for everyone. Some of the money will be going to the PUBG Extra Life Marathon, which will benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and runs from January 29 through February 2.

They will also be supporting Gamers Outreach, charity that provides electronics and entertainment to children in hospitals. A PUBG LAN-based event, in conjunction with the Gamers for Giving campaign, will donate its proceeds to Gamers Outreach.

PUBG Corp. will also be matching donations to both of these causes, and donating the remaining 1 million dollars to other various events and groups throughout the year.

Developers have stepped their game up from last year, when they donated $100,000 to the Twitch PUBG Winter Invitational. As the game continues to grow in profitability and popularity, it’s anyone’s guess what they might do next. Regardless, many agree that it is great to see companies using their success to give back to the community that helped them get there.

For now we’ll thank them for their donations, and remember to check out these campaigns for information on how anyone can participate and contribute.
