Prop Hunt Comes to Fortnite

One of the most popular game modes being released for multiplayer games right now is Prop Hunt, and Fortnite has now hopped on the train as well. Announced few days ago, Fortnite Prop Hunt is available to play now via Stray Kite’s Featured Island. Like most other Prop Hunt game modes, one team of player disguises themselves as regular items found on a map, while the other team tries their best to find and eliminate them.

Prop Hunt originally began as a player-created mod for games and made popular in Garry’s Mod. The basic premise is the same as hide-and-seek, where a team of players hides from the other and tries to remain hidden until time expires. Prop Hunt takes a different spin on the classic children’s game and allows players to hide as props, or elements from the given game map, to make finding them that much more difficult. Many games have been releasing an official game mode, not just a player-mod, such as Call of Duty bringing it back for their most recent release, Black Ops 4. New games are even releasing as another spin on the game mode, such as Midnight Ghost Hunt, where ghosts hide in objects around a haunted house to escape the ghost hunters.

Some games with Prop Hunt randomly assign players an object and turn them loose in the map, such as Black Ops 4. In the new Fortnite Prop Hunt, however, players will use a brand new weapon, called the Prop-O-Matic, to choose their inanimate doppelganger. Players can choose more traditional props, such as a bench or a bush, or get really sneaky and hide as a fast food soda cup. Not much is off limits in this game mode; if you can find it, you can be it. The mode comes from the dev team at Stray Kite and they have nailed the spirit of the game in their Fortnite iteration.

Fortnite‘s Prop Hunt is available to play right now using Creative Code: 6069-9263-9110. You can also check out the trailer for the game mode below.
