Possible Gameplay Footage Of Hideo Kojima’s Uannounced Game Overdose Leaks Online

Earlier this year, it was reported that one of Hideo Kojima’s next games will be a horror game called Overdose. Not much was revealed about the game but the game is going to star actress Margaret Qualley, who worked with Kojima on Death Stranding. The report talked about early footage of the game featuring Qualley’s character walking through dark corridor with a flashlight in the third person before leading into a jump scare to “Game Over” appearing on screen followed by “A Hideo Kojima Game…Overdose.”  Today, that footage has leaked online and has been widely circulated on social media.

The video shows someone filming the Overdose footage which features what was described in the report from June. Margaret Qualley is walking down a dark corridor with a flashlight before leading into a jump scare which is followed by a “Game Over” screen and then transitions into “A Hideo Kojima Game… Overdose. The video also shows a picture-in-picture view of a woman seemingly playing the game from what looks like a phone which suggests that Overdose may be a mobile game or may be playable on mobile devices.

Earlier this year, Xbox and Hideo Kojima announced that they are collaborating with one another on a new game that will utilize Microsoft’s cloud technology. “Yes, there is a game I have always wanted to make. It’s a completely new game, one that no one has ever experienced or seen before. I’ve waited very long for the day when I could finally start to create it,” Kojima said about the new partnership. “With Microsoft’s cutting-edge cloud technology and the change in the industry’s trend, it has now become possible to challenge myself to make this never-before-seen concept. It may take some time, but I’m looking forward to teaming up with Xbox Game Studios and hope to bring you some exciting news in the future!”

When Overdose first leaked, it was claimed that Kojima Productions requested its removal which may or may not confirm the game’s existence but nothing official has been announced yet. Kojima Productions is also working on a sequel to Death Stranding which was unofficially announced by actor Norman Reedus.
