The indie game publisher, PQube, which was the studio behind the visual novel, Root Letter: Last Answer, is back with a story-based RPG developed by Fumi and Room-6. This RPG, entitled 7 Years From Now, was developed by one man, Mafumi Yoshida, and was originally created for mobile users and has been out on iOS and Android platforms since 2017 and since then, received a lot of critical acclaim and over 6 million downloads. Now, 7 Years From Now is about to be optimized to prepare for its release on Nintendo Switch and PC soon.
In 7 Years From Now, players will follow a high school student, Haruto Soraki, as he comes back to his hometown in order to try and reclaim his memory that he lost due to an accident seven years ago he does not know about as well as a mysterious promise he made with a girl who appears in his dreams. This is a very narrative-driven, no-combat game as players have to unravel this story by engaging in conversations with townspeople, finding mysterious events, and revealing secrets about the town. Overall, this game is described as being “deceptively dark and wonderful” and gives its players an engaging experience with its ambient soundtrack and minimalist pixel art style.
The Switch and PC version will include all of the DLCs that are available which include an epilogue, side story, glossary, and Sound Mode. 7 Years From Now is coming to Nintendo Switch and Steam on May 28 for a currently undetermined price. Until then, prospective players can wishlist the game on Steam.
