Pokémon fans were ecstatic that Pokémon Sun and Moon added the Poké Finder feature that allowed you to take pictures of Pokémon at certain spots. Now, fans in the Americas who were fortunate to have been alive during the N64 days will be equally ecstatic that Pokémon spin-off fan favorite Pokémon Snap will be available of the Wii U Virtual Console tomorrow, January 5. The Americas were the last region to have Pokémon Snap available for Wii U Virtual Console; Pokémon Snap was available in Japan in April 2016 and it was available for Europe in August 2016.
Instead of sending pictures to Professor Oak like Pokémon Snap did, the Poké Finder allowed you to take pictures. You’d then post the best one and receive an x amount of likes and comments. 1 million likes gave you a sticker on your trainer passport. In Pokémon Snap, you sent your pictures to Professor Oak, who would then grade it based on quality and the number of Pokémon in the picture.
Pokémon Snap was already available for the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console. Players who already have Pokémon Snap on the Wii virtual console will already have for players who have the Wii U virtual console by using the backward-compatible Wii Menu application. Unlike the Wii Virtual Console version, the version on the Wii U Virtual Console will be compatible with the GamePad and ProController. Pokémon Snap on the Wii U is $10.
The fore mentioned Pokémon Sun and Moon was the most recent game that Pokémon fans could play. It was top three game in terms of holiday sales on Amazon. There have been two Holiday Upgrades for Pokémon Go, but I highly suggest you put that game away, unless you want to be cold while only being able to catch 650 Pokémon less than the full 802 national dex in Pokémon Sun and Moon.
